History
The Philodemic Society has a long and storied history dating back to before the Civil War. The Alumni Philodemica is working on a long term project to do a deep dive into our history, compiling everything from every recorded resolution the Society has ever debated to the biographical details of all inducted members since 1830. If you are interested in supporting us in our efforts, let us know by emailing filling out the form linked here.
In the meantime, enjoy the Philodemic Society history compiled by some fantastic Philodemicians—Michael Desnick, Emma Green, Daniel Rendleman, and Josh Donovan. For more readings, check out the essays written in Swift Potomac's Lovely Daughter, including an essay from Eric M. George who revived the Philodemic Society. Keep an eye out on our website for historical tidbits and artifacts as they become available over the weeks and months to come!
